I began teaching Kindergarten at Eureka Springs Elementary School when it was still morning and afternoon Kindergarten. I taught Kindergarten for 6 years and then taught 2nd Grade. I thought I wanted to try something different and opened a Bed and Breakfast and a gift shop by the Crescent Hotel. After a few long, hard, unsuccessful years, a friend came to me who was the director of Ozark Guidance and asked me if I would help her start up the school based mental health program. I did this and began working as a case manager with a therapist in the Berryville and Green Forest Schools. When my daughter graduated from Eureka Springs High School, I moved to the Eureka Springs schools, seeing students Pre Kindergarten- high school as a Mental Health Para Professional. I worked for Ozark Guidance for 10 years and came back to teaching at the Eureka Springs Elementary School in 2013. I was their Behavior Interventionist and began the Successful Scotties Skills Classes. I am now the director and teacher of the Eureka Springs Elementary Alternative Learning Classroom and have students Kindergarten-4th Grade in my classroom.
I began my teaching career in Little Rock , AR in Pre School with a class of 4 year olds. I then taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grades for 8 years in Private Academies.
