I graduated from Germantown High School in Germantown, Tennessee in 1987. I attended University of Missouri for three semesters and completed my undergraduate degree at University of Memphis in 1995. I received my Masters in Literature in 2004 and Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2007, both from the University of Memphis.

This is my first year teaching at Eureka Springs High School. This is my 15th year teaching. I have taught in Tennessee, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
I began teaching in 2003 at a private school in Memphis, Tennessee. I taught in the Shelby County School District for 3 years. I then taught at Roland High School in Roland, Oklahoma for 2 years. Immediately before coming to Eureka Springs, I taught at Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Arkansas for 4 years. Before teaching, I worked as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer, and before that I worked as a paralegal in both Memphis, Tennessee and Houston, Texas.
I married my husband, Chad, in 2000. We have 3 children - Derrick: a Eureka Springs High School graduate who is attending Interlochen Arts Academy as a post-graduate; Charlie: a 7th grader at Eureka Springs Middle School. He is involved in Boy Scouts, Cross Country, Band, and plays basketball; and Erin "Pip": a 4th grader at Eureka Springs Elementary. She is involved in basketball, drama, and chior. We have a dog, a cat, and 6 chickens,.
I enjoy running in my free time. I have completed 5 full marathons and 21 half marathons.
