Dyslexia Interventions

Eureka Springs Dyslexia Intervention Services

Currently the district is implementing the Barton Reading System for those students showing characteristics of dyslexia.  It uses a multisensory approach for instruction for grades K-12. For information on the Barton system you can go to Bartonreading.com

The Eureka Springs School District identified 23 students in the 2016-2017 school year with markers indicating characteristics of dyslexia and are providing services for 18 students in the dyslexia program.

Teachers may refer a student for dyslexia intervention by submitting a referral to the RTI team with documentation by using a Dyslexia Referral Form.https://s3.amazonaws.com/scschoolfiles/510/referral_for_dyslexia.docx  and an Early Indicator Checklist
