I am currently working on completing a doctorate in Higher Education from Concordia University as well.
I am certified to teach Math/Science in Grades 4-8 as well as other certifications in both Arkansas and Texas.
I have been a speaker at a Statewide Math Conference in Texas as well as some smaller conferences while in Texas. I have continued with conferences in Arkansas.
This is my 10th year teaching in middle school. This is my second year teaching in Eureka Springs, AR. I love living and working in this beautiful city and state! I am currently the Math Coach and Math Intervention Teacher for Eureka Springs Middle School.
In the past, I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math as well as Robotics, Web Design, Keyboarding, and Technology Communications as well as a Digital Journalism Class in which students created and operated a school newspaper online.
I celebrated my 28th anniversary in the summer of 2017. We have two kids and 6 pets (2 dogs and 4 cats).
I love to read mystery novels as well as books like Harry Potter, the Hunger Games, etc. I love working on remodeling the home we just purchased as well as hiking and fishing. I create clay sculptures, pencil sketches, and some paintings as well. I love to write as well as learn new things about technology and teaching math. I feel strongly about using technology in my classroom as well as traditional methods of teaching.
