Laynee Dejarnette, the daughter of Alex Dejarnette and a senior at Eureka Springs High School has been named the Student of the Month for September 2026. She is a member of Cross Country, Soccer, Rotary Interact and Student Government Association, YAB, Cheer, Theatre, and College Prep Club. She serves as Secretary of the Senior class and is an AP Scholar. Laynee carries a 4.2 GPA. She is Captain of the Ladies Soccer team and serves as a student leader in both YAB and College Prep Clubs Laynee has served the community by helping with Mountain Bike trail clearing and has helped elementary students learn how to ride bikes. She has helped Rotary interact with dinner events and Jeep Jam. She has worked st Eureka Springs Zipline and Opera of the Ozarks. Laynee enjoys writing short stories and practicing soccer and just hanging out with friends. After graduation, Laynee plans to attend Missouri State or University of Missouri, Kansas City where she plans to study Psychology.
