🚀✈️ Career & Technical Education Month: Aviation Spotlight! ✈️🚀 At Eureka Springs High School, our Aviation Program is soaring to new heights! 🛫 Through our up to four-year AOPA curriculum, students gain hands-on experience in both pilot training and UAV operations. Next year, we are expanding our offerings to include both Freshman and Sophomore courses! 👨‍✈️ What makes our program stand out? 🔹 Classroom Simulations – We have a flight simulator setup that we plan to enhance with new technology this semester. 🔹 Guest Speakers – Local pilots and aviation professionals share their expertise and industry insights. 🔹 Airport Visits – We’re coordinating trips to observe aircraft, Air Traffic Control in action, and even take flight with licensed pilots! 💡 Why Aviation? This program allows students to apply their STEM knowledge to a high-demand industry with multiple career pathways. Whether she’s providing care to a sick student, organizing flu shot clinics, or offering professional development to teachers, she goes above and beyond to support the well-being of our school community. Meghan’s kindness and expertise make a difference every day. She not only helps students feel better but also ensures our staff is informed and prepared to handle health-related situations. ⚽ ESHS Soccer Season Kicks Off! ⚽ Get ready to cheer on our incredible boys' and girls' soccer teams as they take the field for the first game of the season on February 27 at the ESHS Soccer Facility! Not only are these athletes fierce competitors on the field, but they are also excelling in the classroom—our boys' team boasts a combined 3.21 GPA, and the girls' team holds a combined 3.15 GPA! We’re thrilled to start the season and can't wait to see our teams in action. Staff Spotlight: Tilenna Hill – Computer Science and EAST Facilitator 💻🎮 Meet Tilenna Hill, a fantastic teacher and the heart of our Computer Science and EAST programs. Known for her engaging sense of humor 😂 and approachable nature, Tilenna is always ready to help students navigate the complexities of tech with a smile. Her ability to relate to her students makes learning both fun and impactful. Whether she’s guiding them through coding or encouraging creative problem-solving in EAST, Tilenna’s enthusiasm and dedication shine through in everything she does. 🌟 Athlete of the Week: Peyton Gordon 🌟 Senior Peyton Gordon is a standout leader on the Eureka Springs Cheer Squad! 📣 As team captain, she has choreographed many of the dances and cheers that energize our team and crowd. Coach McCrary shares, “Peyton has proven herself to be a truly dedicated athlete. She never shies away from hard work and is the first to motivate the team when she notices they are feeling down. 🏀🎉 STATE CHAMPION ALERT! 🎉🏀 Kayn just won the Elk’s Club Hoop Shoot State Tournament!! 🏆🔥 He dominated the court, sinking 22 out of 25 free throws to claim the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! Now, he’s headed to Paducah, Kentucky on March 15 to compete in the Regional Championship! Let’s cheer him on as he takes the next step toward nationals! 💪👏 Way to go, Kayn! We are SO proud of you! 🎯🏀

🚀✨ EAST Students Level Up Their 3D Skills! ✨🚀 Elementary and middle school EAST students had an incredible training session at CAST at the University of Arkansas, learning from the amazing 3D tech guru Joel Gordon from MatterHackers! 🎨🖥️ Students worked with ZBrush software to sharpen their 3D modeling skills, bringing their creative ideas to life! 💡🎭 We can’t wait to see what they create next! Big thanks to MatterHackers and CAST for this awesome opportunity! 👏

Eureka Springs FFA Shines at Battle Town Rivalry CDEs! Our FFA students competed today in the Battle Town Rivalry Career Development Events in Fort Smith, going up against schools from across Arkansas and Oklahoma! 🏆 Turf Grass Management – 1st Place! 🌱 Anna Vaverka took 1st place individually! 💰 Farm Business Management – 7th Place 🌿 Nursery Landscaping – 5th Place ⚡ Electricity – 10th Place 💐 Floriculture – 13th Place We’re proud of all our students for their hard work and dedication. 📚✨ Spicing Up Our Writing! ✨📚 Mrs. Alyissa’s 3rd-grade class turned up the heat on their writing today! 🔥✏️ They learned about word choice and how using “spicy” words can make their writing more exciting. In groups, they brainstormed creative alternatives for common words—because why say “happy” when you can say ecstatic or overjoyed? 😃👏 Way to go, young writers! Keep adding that flavor to your words! 🌟📖

Staff Spotlight: Carrie Freeman - Reading Interventionist 📚✨ We are so grateful to have Carrie Freeman as our Elementary Reading Interventionist! Carrie works diligently with small groups of students and collaborates with classroom teachers to support student growth and success in reading. Her calm demeanor and kind nature create a welcoming environment for all, and she’s always ready to lend a helping hand. 🤝 Her dedication to her students and their progress is truly inspiring. 📚✨ What an Amazing Event! ✨📚 A huge thank you to April Griffith from the Eureka Springs Carnegie Public Library, Dr. Ashley Wellman, and our amazing Scottie staff for making our literacy event such a success! 🎉 Families had a great time learning about the Raising a Reader Program, signing up for library cards, and celebrating the joy of reading together. A special highlight of the event was local author Dr. Ashley Wellman reading her books to attendees! 📖✨ Her storytelling brought stories to life and made the evening even more special for our families.
