♟️ Eureka Springs Chess Team Shines Again! ♟️ Our incredible chess team hit the road this Saturday, traveling to Little Rock for a USCF-rated tournament. Despite the early morning and long drive, we swept the scholastic podium! 🏆 🥇 1st Place: Sonny Thao 🥈 2nd Place: Riley Chapman 🥉 3rd Place: Christian Thao A special shoutout to Bonus Shock, who narrowly missed the podium due to computer tiebreaks—amazing effort! We also want to recognize the outstanding performances of JD Eckman, Kaleb Heintzelman, Roman Schuber, Finn Van Sickle, Chase Abendroth, Amber Kirk, and Xandy Martin, who represented Eureka Springs with skill and pride. 🚍 Staff Spotlight: Earl Hyatt ⚽ Meet Earl Hyatt, our bus driver for the Orange Patch Route and dedicated ESHS Soccer Coach! Earl truly loves his time driving along the beautiful Beaver Lake route, where he enjoys chatting with students and hearing about their day. As he marks his 9th year coaching ESHS soccer, Earl reflects on the joy of teaching teenagers valuable life lessons like resilience, teamwork, tenacity, and dedication. Abi Killion, the daughter of Kole and Sheila Killion and a senior at Eureka Springs High School, has been named the Eureka Springs Rotary Student of the Month for December 2024. Abi has maintained a 3.97 GPA. She serves as Class President. Abi enjoys Mountain Biking, Shooting Sports and Soccer and serves as Soccer Team Captain. She enjoys trail maintenance and clearing for mountain biking. She works at the front desk for the Eureka Springs Community Center. In her spare time she enjoys long bike rides and weight lifting. Following graduation, Abi plans to attend college and major in nursing.

🎉 Today in Kindergarten: National Rubber Duckie Day Fun! 🦆 To celebrate this special day, we: 📚 Read a heartwarming Rubber Duckie story, 💡 Learned some fascinating duckie history, and 🎨 Held a design contest! Did you know? 🦆 The first Rubber Duckie was created 225 years ago by Charles Goodyear!? 🌊 In 1992, 29,000 duckies were lost at sea during a storm. Scientists used their journey to track ocean currents, helping us better understand our oceans! Today was all about fun and learning.... and they took home their very own Rubber Duckie prize! 💛

Elementary Classroom/Group pictures will be taken Tuesday, Jan 14th

The Eureka Springs School District will dismiss at 1:00 pm today, January 9th, due to possible winter weather conditions. Elementary car riders will be dismissed at 12:40 pm. Buses will run regular take-home routes, but will be approximately 2 hours early. Again, we will dismiss at 1 pm today. Stay safe!
